Is a field hockey tournament possible even if there is no suitable artificial turf pitch? Yes, it's possible! And how!!!
With the Höfe Turf Cup 2022 on June 25, 2022, a field hockey tournament took place on Swiss soil for the very first time in the history of the canton. The HCH had the pleasure of welcoming GC and RedSox, two traditional clubs from Zurich, as guests. In gorgeous summer weather, the clubs' juniors engaged in exciting battles for the coveted trophies on freshly mowed grass in Chrummen/Freienbach. Our guests prevailed in all age groups against HCH, and so the U8 & U10 HTC Cup went to GC, while the U12 HTC Cup went to RedSox after an intense shoot-out. The HCH Boys Squad (U8) and the HCH Girl Power (U8) were thrilled to secure second and third place, respectively, while the HCH Spielfreude (U10) and HCH Teamgeist (U12) were also delighted with their second-place finishes.
All in all, the debut of the Höfe Turf Cup was a great success, and we're already looking forward to 2023 to see who will take home the HTC Cup. A big thank you goes out to all the parents who helped make this possible. Without you, this would not have been possible!
Our Girl Power girls are drawing lots to see who gets to go onto the field first...
Emma is one step ahead of GC Spielmacher.
The GirlPower don't miss a beat and secure the ball in threes.
No problem for Mia, who surprises the opponent in all positions.
Despite clear field superiority and ball possession (more than 70%), the ball didn't want to roll into the opponent's goal for HCH...
With our U10s, the game was more focused on defense, as GC clearly dominated the game here.
To the delight of all the kids, the longed-for trophies were handed out. Being there and having fun were also rewarded.
For each other and together - the U12 had delivered a great tournament. In the end it was second place.
