Pure joy of playing!

On May 29th, our U8 & U10 competed in a tournament for the first time after a long Covid break. Since many in the team had only been holding a hockey stick for a few weeks, or the team was playing in the formation for the first time, the motto was simple: the main thing was to have fun with the game.

But the day developed differently than expected and the German-Swiss hockey world present was quite astonished: against the large and established teams from Lucerne (LSC), Zurich (GC), Wettingen, Basel and Lugano, the HCH Spielfreude team sent a clear signal: with power play (early tackle, a duel is only lost if you don't follow up), tactical intelligence (opening spaces, quick attacks from the outside, triangle) and filigree technique, our U10 dominated the opposing teams at will. Only the team from Lugano was able to counter with lightning-fast counterattacks and managed a draw against the black and white team from Höfe.

With 4 wins from 5 matches, our U10 girls & boys were the clear tournament winners. Made the success possible: Isabel, Mia, Marusia, Philipp, Lian, Leonard, Leif, Levin, Noah, Sofian, Nati & Finn.

The HCH U8s were also in top form. Against Lucerne, Zurich, Bern and Wettingen, the youngest of the HCH managed a remarkable performance. The U8 Boys Squad of the HCH won 6 out of 8 matches - some even as a real shooting match - and thus became the clear tournament winners. Also present: Janik, Carl, Rayan, Philipp, Leonard & Leif.

And the U8 Girl Power, half of which have only held the racket in their hands for a few weeks, won 2 matches and fought for a draw. A very good basis for the future of the HCH. Is the 1st women's team of the HCH growing up here with Suze, Viktoria, Emma, Linn, Luana and Olivia? It is desirable...

May 29, 2021 - a day that the HCH will remember fondly.
